Hello, I’m Dave and I’m obsessed with growing truffles.. Most of you would have completed your springtime maintenance by now. Good on you if you have, as you can now ease off and let the little nodules develop. For me though, I am way behind where I usually am for this time of year. This is because I’ve gone from managing the truffiere to leasing the 10ha block. The formal side of things has taken a while to finalise, and I have also had to re purchase tractor and necessary equipment to carry out the tasks (having gotten rid of everything at the end of last year and used contractors machinery- another story).

So, I’ve been flat out with my trencher saw. Inoculating the trench, with reject truffle smoothies (Homeopathic rates of dilution)  Timed nicely, light drizzle during application, then hosed down the next day.
