Membership
Welcome to the NZ Truffle Association, the industry group for truffle-growing in New Zealand. Your membership is renewable on an annual basis and subscriptions are invoiced in April each year.

Executive
The NZTA is managed and administered by member volunteers who are elected at the AGM. The current Executive members’ bios can be viewed here. New members of the Executive may also be co-opted during the year. If you are interested in joining the Executive, please get in touch (even if you are new to truffle growing). Volunteers with a contribution to make are always welcome and we want to encourage representation for growers at every level.

AGM and Conference
The annual conference is a highlight of the NZTA calendar. Each year it is held in a different location handy to New Zealand’s truffle growing centres (or held by video-conference if circumstances require). New Zealand and international experts will give presentations and run workshops. There is also a truffle – focussed dinner and a site visit to a local truffière. The conference is a great opportunity for growers to get together and discuss issues of interest in a relaxed setting. NZTA Members receive a discounted rate for attendance.

NZTA Newsletter “The Truffler”
The NZTA publishes a quarterly newsletter which contains updates from the Executive, news and items of interest to truffle growers. Back issues are available in the members section of the NZTA website.

Regional groups and meetings
Regional meetings are held during the year in several major truffle producing regions. All NZTA members are welcome to attend these meetings which are hosted by local truffle growers at their truffières or by video-conferencing. Many members find it very worthwhile to have a forum to discuss local issues relating to truffle growing. The NZTA is always looking for additional people to become involved with the regional groups and volunteering can be a great way to meet other growers in your area. Please get in touch if you want to know more about regional groups.

Support and Resources
The NZTA is continuously working to improve the resources and materials available to its members. Members will be kept informed of new resources as they are posted onto the website. Other NZTA members are often a good source of tips and advice, especially through the regional groups.

Research and Lobbying
The NZTA has a scientific officer who helps to coordinate and run research activities relating to truffle growing. A periodic survey of NZ truffle growing is also undertaken by the NZTA. Further details are available in the members section of the website.

Truffle Exports – STNZL and Marketing Co-op
If you intend to export truffles you must follow the truffle Export Management Strategy under the Horticultural Export Authority. The truffle EMS is administered by Southern Truffles New Zealand Limited which is a company 100% owned by the NZTA. An Export Guide for NZ Truffles is available on the NZTA website.
The NZTA supports and is providing funding and other assistance to a grower-led initiative to establish a co-operative for marketing NZ grown truffles into overseas markets. For further information on this project please contact the co-op secretary at secretary@trufflecoop.nz
