NZ Truffle Association Conference 2025 – Rotorua

We are delighted to announce the NZ Truffle Association Conference 2025, taking place at the Arawa Park Hotel, Rotorua, from Friday 10 to Sunday 12 October 2025.

This year’s conference promises to be a stand-out event for truffle growers, researchers, and enthusiasts across New Zealand. With a mix of practical workshops, keynote sessions, industry discussions, and a field trip to two unique truffières, the programme is designed to deliver inspiration, practical knowledge, and valuable connections.


🌱 Programme Highlights

Friday 10 October – Workshops & Networking

  • Basic Learnings: Numbers, Set-Up & Configurations

  • Soils & Fertilisers, Biological Products

  • Irrigation

  • Wrap up the day with drinks, nibbles, and networking with other growers.

Saturday 11 October – Conference & Dinner

  • Keynote: Common Practices, Mistakes & Learnings – Luz Cocina-Romero, MicroLab Spain

  • Sessions on seedling standards, economic insights, food safety, exports, and international trade opportunities

  • Presentations from industry partners and open discussions on research ideas

  • The day concludes with the Conference Dinner – a highlight for connection and celebration.

Sunday 12 October – Field Trip

  • Visit to Ngakuru truffière, a young 3 year old truffiere, with a practical demonstration of ripping and adding inoculum

  • Visit to Wharenui truffière – established 18 year old producing truffiere, what’s happened over the last 10 years since NZTA visited?

  • A hands-on opportunity to learn directly from growers in the field, with lunch and refreshments included.
